Lincoln Update

Last Friday we went to Lincoln’s cardiologist, and first all the stats – weight 12 pounds 12 oz. length 23 1/4″ oxygen – 98%. They were happy with his weight gain now – he has been consistantly gaining, but at one point it was a little slower. Seems like we have caught back up now. No echo was done this visit, but next time he told us come with him a little hungry and then have him eat right before we come in. Boy . . . I can’t wait for that hour long car ride with a hungry baby -Yay.

Not a whole lot was new just basics, and next visit we should at least know whats going on inside. Dr Finnigan did increase his medication by (0.1 ml), so now he gets (0.6 ml) dose twice a day. Lincoln’s at home routine is really great and he sleeps really well at night. Now we have found our voice a whole lot more so crying is a much bigger part of our day – between a two year old and 3 month old it is very possible if you were to knock on our door someone would be screaming. I type this in a quiet house right now though
only because it is late at night and everyone else is sleeping.
Get Free Products . . . Become a Bzzagent
Posted: May 10, 2013 Filed under: General, Reviews | Tags: bzz agent, Bzzagent, Free, Rae's View, Reviews Leave a comment »I have posted many product reviews to my site and if you have been following me for very long you have seen at least a couple. I am always in the market for free stuff – beauty products, food, household and coffee. These are all examples of products I have reviewed by being a bzzagent. Take a look at these reviews if you have never seen one of them.
Let’s talk about how easy it is to become a bzzagent -
1. Go to bzzagent.com and click sign up now
2. Fill out your personal info
3. Complete all the surveys (this will take you a little time, but this is so important because this is how they know what “stuff” to have you review)
WAIT FOR YOUR FIRST CAMPAIGN
After you are a bzzagent and you have your first campaign – you will need to spread the “bzz” or talk to others about the products. Be honest never just give hype on a product if you don’t really love it. Bzzagent.com will give you a certain number of days for your campaign(each campaign is different), and be sure that you fill out all of your reports for them before your time runs out. You will have a score through bzzagent.com, and the more “bzz” you spread the higher your score. Essentially the more reports and feedback you give bzzagent the more campaigns they will invite you too. Hope this was helpful to anyone who has been interested in how I started getting free products to review. Be sure to watch the short video, click like, subscribe – if you want to

Posted: May 8, 2013 Filed under: Family, General | Tags: Encouragement, Family, Lincoln, Retail 1 Comment »Andrew my wonderful husband – has been working in the retail industry for 14 years now. For the past five years he has managed a Tractor Supply Store about 30 miles from where we live. This distance has never really been an issue with our family until recently.
The recent birth of our son and our frequent trips to his doctors made the direction of his current store very inconvenient. So . . . Just like God always does he provided . A Tractor Supply store just 13.4 miles from our house, and in the direction of Lincoln’s doctors. We are so happy that Andrew is closer to home and in a beautiful “new to him” store. This store is a bigger much newer and a stand alone location all positive changes that we are all excited about. Retail is not an easy profession to choose but my man makes it look easy – we are so proud of him.
The last day he was at his old store – one team member made us a cake and another gave us a gaint cookie – (I took pictures, but I can’t find them now). His entire team all had one last pow wow in the parking lot of his store as he was trying to leave that night. They are a great group and we will miss many of them so much, but they understand his decision to leave for his family.
Thanks to Random Lady
Posted: May 6, 2013 Filed under: Family, General | Tags: Baby, Family, Lincoln, Mckenzie, Shopping, Thanks, Toddler Leave a comment »I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to the random lady that stopped me in HEB this morning and told me that she admired me and all my patients with my children. Going to the store is not exactly a walk in the park lugging a two-year old and a baby in the carrier. Now I know that I am not special and many women before and after me have and will lug more children around. Your family and friends that you are close to might tell you that you are doing a good job and you are teaching your children how to act right by your example, but when someone who doesn’t have the slightest idea who you are gives you a compliment it feels really good. I did confess to her that I can’t say I am always this way.
I will set the stage for you – my son hates the car seat so about half way through shopping he starts screaming. I keep putting the pacifier back until we are done with the shopping and at the register. Then I take him out of the carrier and hold him the whole time I am loading my groceries onto the belt. Mckenzie is strapped into the buggy seat and anxiously takes her HEB buddy bucks from the cashier. We finished checking out baby still not happy but he goes back into the car seat and Mckenzie comes out to deposit her buddy bucks into the machine (kids game with a spinning wheel). This is the point the lady gives me the compliment
. Oh YEAH . . .we were instant winners, so now we go to the HEB service desk to claim our prize. Mckenzie is still out of the buggy to get her ball, and then off she runs. Yep I am wheeling my buggy out and jogging but not to fast I mean I don’t want anyone to think I don’t have control over my two-year old. I call her by her first and middle name because you know that means business and I end up letting go of my buggy to catch her just before she made it to the door. I turn around and realize the buggy hit the dog food and another lady had caught the buggy. I thanked her for catching it - she gave me a disgusted look and walked away. It’s ok that she wasn’t happy with and I’m sure she thinks I am a bad mother, but hey I got told just moments before how patient I was.
The moral to my story is - give random people compliments. It just might make their day it certianly did mine!
Most Worn Tag

One of my 13 changes for 2013 was to make more videos. I wasn’t so sure I would really post them to YouTube, but I am learning more about my camera, imovie editing, and YouTube video responses in the process. I wanted to do something a little more fun or entertaining than just a review – so here we go.
My assistant Mckenzie and I will be doing the MOST WORN TAG.
Just a FYI I will be doing a video soon of Lincoln, so you can all meet him on a more interactive level via video.
Lincoln Update
Posted: May 1, 2013 Filed under: Family, General | Tags: Baby, Family, Lincoln Leave a comment »Last Friday we went to see Dr Finnigan (Lincoln’s Cardiologist). We had all of the regular EKG, weight, length, oxygen level ect. . . He was 23″ and weighed 12 pounds and was getting 100% oxygen. Lincoln does not enjoy anything about riding in the car, so by the time we drove the hour to the doctor’s he was quite worked up and he continued his fussiness through the EKG. Because of all of that we didn’t have a blood pressure this time. I do my very best to have him happy (tummy full) and sleepy so that they can examine him, but this time Lincoln didn’t want to cooperate. Dr Finnigan told us if you have time he could wait for him to go to sleep – we agreed and then gave up after Dr Finnigan came back into our room for the third time. Seriously he might be the most patient Dr I have ever seen and then he thanked us for our patience
.
With no ultrasound (echo) done this visit, we discussed the recent chest x-ray and his pending surgery plans. The x-ray was odd – meaning looking at Lincoln’s chest x-ray in comparison to a normal heart is just a very different view. The x-ray was done more to have a picture of Lincoln’s normal, so that if he gets sick and we need to have another x-ray done there is something to compare it too. The x-ray will also be used to see how it grows as he gets older. Surgery is going to happen sometime before Lincoln is one for the leaky valve. Dr Finnigan says this is not going to fix itself where the VSD had that potential – the leaky valve will have to be fixed. They will go in to put a band around the valve so that the flow through that valve will be slowed. We are waiting for Lincoln’s body to tell us when that will happen, but the closer we can get to the one year mark the better. Because babies grow so fast in the first year – if surgery has to be done say at 6 months they could have to go back in for a second surgery around 12 – 18 month. If surgery can wait till around the one year mark they could hold off on the second surgery longer (a couple of years maybe). All of the ages are just approximate just as an example to see the big picture. He is still taking his diuritic medication, but for now no new medications.
In a few months Dr Finnigan is going to take Lincoln’s file to a Cardiologist Conference to share it with some heart surgeons. After hearing from the heart surgeons their opinions then we can break down exactly what will really be best for Lincoln’s case.
When I look at Lincoln it is hard to think about what is going on inside his body. I thank God mutiple times a day that He gave me such a blessing, and I truly hope that through all of this it will bring glory to God – because after all why else are we here on this earth.
My Garden . . . its time again
Posted: April 29, 2013 Filed under: Family, General, Home | Tags: Family, Garden Leave a comment »Hard to believe it is growing season again, and I haven’t posted one time about it. If you followed me last year you saw all of my many posts about “How does my garden grow”. Well, this year my life is slightly busier, so I can promise there won’t be quite so many posts. We have moved the garden this year and what was supposed to be a smaller more manageable space has turned into just the opposite
. I did have quite the planting helper this year though. She planted and then stepped on and then pulled out of the ground all of the plants as they went into the garden . . . oh it was SOOOO fun.
- My Helper
- In need of a serious weeding
- New bark in the front yard
- New bark for the back yard
- Just one of my many cute little birds
- Our Doves
- Tomatos
- Peppers
- Cucumbers
- Container Corn – with some basil
- Wild Verbena
Some of the garden pictures are dark . . . sorry – that is because when I have time to take pictures it is before the sun is up. Thankfully God has been sending us some rain recently, and this may be our best growing season in several years . Happy growing season to you all.
